Orange RockCorps 2011
It’s taken four years and 32,000 people to get here but Orange RockCorps has landed at the iconic Wembley Arena in the UK’s largest ALL volunteer gig.
Everyone here has Given 4 hours volunteering at one of our 150 community projects throughout every borough of Greater London to Get Given 1 ticket to this amazing gig.
The atmosphere was bristling with energy as Dj Clinton Sparks worked his magic on the decks, mixing up a storm of anticipation on the dance floor. The crowd were whipped into a frenzy for the first act, the stunning pop-gem
What a way to start the proceedings, the quirky popster danced through hits ‘Skinny Genes’ & ‘Pack Up’, getting the audience pumped for the rest of the night and breaking a few hearts in the proceedings.
Surprise act and friend of Orange RockCorps, Wretch 32 shocked the crowd by joining the already stella line-up to bring some North London Grime to the mix. Singing his new single, ‘Don’t Go’ featuring the dulcet tones of Josh Kumra, Wretch 32 nailed his first ever Orange RockCorps gig!
From grime to rap, from North to East brings us to lyrical genius, Professor Green. Hot from the Thames 21 project in Brent, spat lyrics over hit after hit bringing the atmosphere to boiling point.
The ‘Milkshake’ star Kelis brought all the volunteers from the bar straight to the arena floor where she styled a stunning sparkly gold jumpsuit and a genius back catalogue of hits. Pumping out ‘Acapella’ and new song with Calvin Harris, ‘Bounce’ she had the crowd eating out of the palm of her hand.
Bringing true rock and roll spirit to the hottest show of the year, Primal Scream were howling banshees of pure maverick mayhem. With a back catalogue that spans almost 30 years they had the pick of the tunes, pulling out ‘Movin’ On Up’ and the genius ‘Rocks Off’ they had the Wembley from the off.
Diddy- Dirty Money
The man, the myth the superstar! Diddy is a true legend and the crowd were there to see him blow the roof off Wembley Arena, and hot damn didn’t Diddy do it! Knocking out covers from The Verve and The Beatles to open the show he moved swiftly on to his new outfit, Diddy- Dirty Money. When he sang ‘Coming Home’, Wembley knew that he was talking about tonight, Orange RockCorps had brought the legend to the people.
